red alarms and white alarms, screeching and squawking, white eyes blinking

boats on the roads, geese, grass, sunlight glinting off the pond

sunny outside, but it's cool here inside
and quiet too

as a child

I used to haunt our public library for this book, and
made sure I got my hands on it every summer holiday .
Oddly enough, the chapter I like best in the book I did
not even read, probably, the first five summers I got
the book. I only got down to it when I had polished off
all other chapters and made them lose their novelty.
And yes, I did get to it before I'd heard about Pink
Floyd.
